Terms & Conditions

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of mfc-studios.co.uk (the "Website") and the dance classes, memberships, and related services provided by MF Creative Ltd ("we", "us", "the Studio").

By creating an account, purchasing a membership or class bundle, booking a class, or otherwise using the Website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

  • Company: MFC Studios
  • Contact: mike@mfc-studios.co.uk

2. Definitions

  • "Account Holder" — the adult (18+) who registers on the Website and is responsible for the account, payments, and any students linked to it.
  • "Student" — a person (adult or child) attached to an Account Holder's account who attends classes.
  • "Membership" — a recurring monthly subscription that grants a student the right to book up to a set number of classes per week.
  • "Class Bundle" — a one-off purchase of credits that can be redeemed for individual class bookings.
  • "Pay-Per-Class" — a one-off purchase for a single class booking.
  • "Class" — a scheduled dance session at the Studio.

3. Accounts

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account you confirm that you are.

3.2 Adding students

You may add one or more students to your account. If a student is a child, you must be that child's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise authorised by them, and you accept full responsibility for the student's participation, conduct, and welfare at the Studio.

3.3 Account security

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for any activity under your account. Notify us promptly at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you suspect unauthorised access.

3.4 Accuracy of information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep it up to date — particularly student names, dates of birth, and any contact details we may need in an emergency.

4. Services

We offer dance classes booked through the Website. Three purchase routes are available:

  1. Memberships — monthly subscriptions billed by Direct Debit. Each plan specifies how many classes per week each student may book.
  2. Class Bundles — a one-off purchase of a fixed number of class credits, redeemable across our timetable. Bundle credits may have an expiry date stated at purchase.
  3. Pay-Per-Class — a one-off payment for a single class booking.

Class schedules, instructors, prices, and class formats may change at our discretion. We'll publish current information on the Website.

5. Pricing and payment

5.1 Prices

Prices are shown on the Website in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to change prices, with notice given on the Website. Price changes won't affect a Membership already in its current billing period.

5.2 Payment methods

  • Card payments and Apple Pay are processed by Stripe.
  • Direct Debit memberships are processed by GoCardless under the Direct Debit Guarantee.

We do not store full card numbers or bank account details on our servers. By providing payment information, you authorise the relevant payment provider to charge the amounts due.

5.3 Failed payments

If a payment fails (declined card, bounced Direct Debit, insufficient funds), we may pause your Membership and any future class bookings linked to it until payment is resolved. We may also retry the payment in accordance with our payment provider's policies.

6. Memberships

6.1 Recurring billing

Memberships are billed automatically every month (or other interval shown at purchase) until cancelled. By purchasing a Membership you agree to ongoing payments at the rate then in effect.

6.2 Weekly class allowance

Each Membership tier specifies the maximum number of classes a student may book per ISO week (Monday to Sunday, UK time). Booking attempts beyond the weekly limit will be declined unless the student has Class Bundle credits to cover them.

6.3 Cancelling a Membership

You can cancel a Membership at any time from your account area or by emailing mike@mfc-studios.co.uk.

  • Cancellation stops future billing.
  • Your Membership remains active until the end of the period you've already paid for.
  • Bookings scheduled after the end of the paid period will be cancelled automatically. You'll receive an email confirming which bookings have been cancelled.

We don't pro-rate or refund unused portions of a Membership period.

6.4 Cooling-off period

You have a statutory right to cancel a Membership within 14 days of purchase under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. However, if you have started using the Membership (booked or attended a class) during that period, you may be charged for the portion you've used. To exercise this right, email mike@mfc-studios.co.uk within 14 days of purchase.

6.5 Changes by us

If we need to materially change a Membership (e.g. reducing the weekly allowance), we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and the option to cancel without penalty.

7. Class Bundles

7.1 Validity

Class Bundle credits are valid from the date of purchase until the expiry date shown at purchase (if any). Unused credits expire on that date and are not refundable.

7.2 Refunds

Class Bundles are non-refundable once any credit from the bundle has been redeemed for a booking. Before any credit is redeemed, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing mike@mfc-studios.co.uk.

7.3 Per-class restrictions

Some bundles may be restricted to specific class types. The restriction will be shown clearly at purchase and on your "My Credits" page.

8. Pay-Per-Class

Pay-Per-Class purchases are for a specific class instance on a specific date. They are non-refundable once the class has started or once cancellation deadlines (see §9) have passed.

9. Class bookings and cancellations

9.1 Booking

Classes are subject to availability and capacity. A booking is confirmed once you receive the confirmation email.

9.2 Cancelling a booking

You may cancel an upcoming booking from "My Bookings" in your account area.

  • If the booking was paid with a Class Bundle credit, the credit is returned to your account automatically and may be used for another class before the bundle's expiry.
  • If the booking was covered by your Membership's weekly allowance, the slot is released for re-booking within the same week (subject to the weekly cap).
  • Pay-Per-Class bookings cancelled outside the deadline below are not refundable.

9.3 Cancellation deadlines

To be eligible for a credit return (Class Bundles) or refund (Pay-Per-Class), you must cancel at least 24 hours before the class start time. Late cancellations and no-shows forfeit the credit / payment.

9.4 Classes cancelled by the Studio

We may occasionally need to cancel a class (instructor illness, low attendance, venue issues, weather, etc.). If we do:

  • We'll notify you by email as soon as we can.
  • Any credit used for the booking will be returned to your account.
  • For Pay-Per-Class bookings, we'll either reschedule or refund the payment, your choice.

9.5 Waiting lists

We may operate a waiting list for full classes at our discretion. Being on a waiting list does not guarantee a place.

10. Conduct at the Studio

To keep the Studio safe and enjoyable for everyone, students and accompanying adults must:

  • Arrive on time. Late arrivals may be refused entry if they would disrupt the class.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and footwear as advised by the instructor.
  • Follow instructor guidance, particularly on safety and technique.
  • Treat instructors, staff, other students, and the venue with respect.
  • Refrain from filming or photographing other students without consent.
  • Inform the instructor of any injury, condition, or medication that may affect participation.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to or remove from the premises anyone whose conduct is disruptive, unsafe, or otherwise contrary to these terms, without refund.

11. Health, fitness, and participation

11.1 Physical activity

Dance involves physical exertion and carries inherent risk of injury. You take part at your own risk.

11.2 Fitness to participate

You confirm that each student is in good health and physically able to take part. If a student has any medical condition, injury, allergy, pregnancy, or other factor that may affect their participation, you must tell us before they attend their first class.

11.3 Following instructions

Students must follow the instructor's directions and stop immediately if they feel unwell or uncomfortable.

11.4 No medical advice

We're not qualified to give medical advice. If you have any doubt about whether a student should take part, consult a GP first.

12. Children

12.1 Parental responsibility

The Account Holder is responsible for the welfare, conduct, and safe arrival and departure of any child student linked to their account. Children must be collected promptly at the end of their class.

12.2 Supervision

We provide instruction during scheduled class times. We do not provide childcare before or after class. Children left unattended outside class times remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian.

12.3 Behaviour

Persistent disruptive behaviour by a child may, after consultation with the parent, result in temporary or permanent exclusion from classes, without refund.

13. Photography, video, and intellectual property

13.1 Recordings made by the Studio

We may occasionally photograph or video classes, performances, or events for marketing or training purposes. If we do, we'll seek consent (or refresh consent) at the time and you may opt out. We will not publish identifiable images of a child student without the Account Holder's prior written consent.

13.2 Recordings made by attendees

Filming or photographing other students or instructors without their consent is not permitted on the premises.

13.3 Choreography and materials

All choreography, class materials, and Website content are the intellectual property of MF Creative Ltd or its licensors. You may not reproduce, perform publicly, teach, or distribute our material without our written permission.

14. Limitation of liability

14.1 Things we don't limit

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • Any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under UK law.

14.2 Things we do limit

Subject to §14.1, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of our services is limited to the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.

14.3 Personal belongings

We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings brought to the Studio. Please don't leave valuables unattended.

15. Termination by us

We may suspend or close your account, cancel your Membership, or refuse service if:

  • You materially breach these terms.
  • You behave in a way that we reasonably consider unsafe, abusive, or harmful to other students, instructors, or staff.
  • A payment fails and is not resolved within a reasonable period.
  • We are required to do so by law.

Where we terminate for a serious breach (e.g. abuse, fraud), no refund is due. Where we close your account for other reasons, we'll refund any pre-paid but un-used Membership period pro-rata, and any unused Class Bundle credits at their pro-rata value.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. If we make material changes that affect your rights or obligations, we'll notify you by email or a prominent notice on the Website at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the new terms.

17. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. Please read it.

18. Complaints

If something goes wrong, we'd much rather hear about it than not. Email mike@mfc-studios.co.uk and we'll respond as quickly as we can.

If we can't resolve a complaint, you may also be able to refer it to an alternative dispute resolution body or take it to the courts (see §19).

19. General

19.1 Governing law

These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

19.2 Jurisdiction

The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute, subject to your statutory rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in your country of residence if you are domiciled elsewhere in the UK.

19.3 Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.

19.4 No waiver

If we don't immediately enforce a term, it doesn't mean we've waived our right to enforce it later.

19.5 Whole agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any order confirmation you receive, form the whole agreement between you and us about your use of our services.

19.6 Assignment

You may not transfer your account or rights under these terms to anyone else without our written consent. We may transfer ours, e.g. as part of a business sale, with notice to you.
